A small change of scene from the coppery-tinged vintages of years past, the 2020 carries a bit more blush (from the use of some merlot fruit this year)—a more traditionally rosy rosé to look at. The nose follows suit, with lashings of strawberries and cream, red delicious apple skins, rhubarb, redcurrant jelly and a faint suggestion of blackcurrant cordial. Drink it nice and cold and you’ll be rewarded with an elegant, citrus-led acidity (pomelo, tangerine) that’ll pair beautifully with rich desserts, cheeses and summer fruits.
